The DT Swiss range of Carbon wheels and wheelsets

It's quite easy to identify the carbon wheels in the DT Swiss range as they are all prefixed by the letters RRC. The rim profiles available cover all types of road racing; each profile has a front and a rear wheel model and is available in both clincher and tubular versions.

In general, the rears are wider, with more spokes in a cross pattern for strength under load.
Identifying the right wheel is somewhat trickier because the identifying code refers to the approximate wheel weight not the profile. Although each code is unique, you have to look up the profile. Front and rear are easily identified by 'F' and 'R'.

This top carbon clincher road wheel from DT Swiss differs from the others by using a ceramic hub bearing where longer life, low rolling resistance and increased stiffness are required. Rim depth is 33mm, spokes are split 18/24 front to rear with the wheel weights 580 g and 710 g respectively.

Otherwise the RRC 1250 follows the same component design of the other DT Swiss Carbon wheels.

These are 32 mm rim depth tubular wheels at a wheelset weight of around 1000g, using high modulus carbon, making them highly effective for rides involving hill climbs or frequent mountainous terrain.

Front and rear spokes are double butted and aero bladed with 20 radial on the front and 24 in 2-cross lacing on the rear. Both use quick release stainless steel bearings with the DT Swiss ratchet system on the rear hub.

If you need the clincher versions at the same profile, they are the RRC 570F and RRC 680R, coming in at a higher wheelset weight of 1280g and priced slightly higher. Otherwise they use similar construction.

These are the tubular carbon wheels at a rim depth 46 mm giving them all round racing versatility. The combined wheelset weighs around 1130 g and uses double butted, aero bladed spokes in a 20/24 front to rear split, with radial pattern on the front and two cross on the rear.

Both have stainless steel bearings with quick release and the DT Swiss freehub star ratchet system on the rear. The clincher wheelset weighs around 1370 g and comprises the RRC 600F and RRC 700R models with similar components.

For longer, flatter high-speed rides the 66mm rim depth of these DT Swiss carbon tubular wheels will be ideal and the rigidity and responsiveness will suit sprints and stages.

The wheelset weight is around 1380g and spoke count is reduced to 16 on the front and 20 on the rear, still in radial and 2-cross patterns respectively. Other than that, components and construction are similar to that of the lower profile DT Swiss wheels.

Clincher versions are the RRC 770F and RRC 880R at a combined weight of 1630 g, with the rest of the design unchanged.
